Hula Girls Get “LOST” in Hawaii

Could there be anything more beauitful than wandering through the lush Hawaiian rainforests with the canopy overhead? Walking along a deserted beach with the waves crashing and water as far as the eye could see? Maybe you could picture yourself getting LOST in this gorgeous environment without a rescue in sight….Maybe we have all dreamed of this…

Now; picture yourself walking through the same rainforest, but this time you hear rustling in the trees, footsteps, screaming, and hear the unmistakable sounds of an animal hunting it’s prey.. Your beauitful beach scattered with the wreckage from an airplane and truly no rescue in sight.. Does this sound like your Hawaiian dream or your Hawaiian nightmare??

If you’re addicted to ABC’s hit drama “Lost”…it may be a little of both! As most “Lost” fans already know, the entire show is filmed in Hawaii. It’s hard to mistake the breathtaking landscape, however, it’s also easy to find yourself getting ‘lost’ as the show lures you deeper inside the mysterious island.

If you have never watched “Lost”; start with Season 1 (it’s available on DVD & iTunes) ..we guarantee that it will surprise you. As two addicted fans, we can hardly wait for next season!

Elvis in Hawaii

Elvis first visited Hawaii in the late 1950’s and immediately fell in love with it’s beauty and it’s people. He loved it so much that he went on to film 3 movies there.

His first movie in Hawaii was filmed in 1961 and was based on the book Beach Boy, written by Allan Weiss. The movie was originally going to be named Hawaiian Beach Boy, but was later changed to Blue Hawaii. Elvis’ mother in the movie was played by Angela Landsbury, she was 35 at the time, Elvis was 26.

His second movie filmed in Hawaii was called Girls, Girls, Girls. This movie was filmed in 1962 and was rated #6 on Variety’s list of top-grossings films that year.

Movie # 3 was called Paradise Hawaiian Style and was filmed in 1966. This movie was filmed in Honolulu, Maui, Kauai, the Cona Coast, and various other locations in California. The closing credits of the movie include this, “Our gratitude to the peoples of the Pacific at the Polynesian Cultural Center, Laie, Oahu, Hawaii”.

Elvis’ best known performance in Hawaii was his, “Elvis, Aloha from Hawaii” show on January 14, 1973. This live performance was telecasted worldwide.

Elvis loved Hawaii and visited on many occasions, his last visit was in March of 1977.

These days you can get married just like Elvis did in “Blue Hawaii”, at the Coco Palms Resort in Kauai.
